I am nearly weeping with joy at how serious this kid takes his performance, and at how much attention and care someone put into making this happen. I’m not even going to say anything “blah blah gender roles blah”, because seriously, at this age the kid isn’t thinking about that. I infer that he simply really likes this song and dance, and wanted to put on his own show of it. Someone else clearly cared enough about what the kid wanted to find him the costume, do the makeup , set up the little chair and drape, record it, and give him a strobe finish! There is nothing that needs to be said about sex, gender, society, etc. when it’s so evident that one kid can find a fun activity for himself and there is someone else out there who loves him enough to make it happen.
